PAPAKONSTANTINOU KATERINA MD, PhD, gynecologist - obstetrician, is based in Athens. She is an associate director of the gynecology clinic at the Naval Hospital of Athens and has a doctorate in Medicine at the University of Athens.
In 1997 she graduated with honors from the Thessaloniki Officers’ Force Military Medical School.
In 2005 she graduated with honors from the Psychology department of the University of Athens. In 2008, she specialized as gynecologist and obstetrician at Aretaieio Hospital.
She subspecialized also for 2 years at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital in London in the following sectors:
 Gynecologic Oncology
 Colposcopy and cervical pathology
 Laparoscopic surgery - hysteroscopy
 Breast diseases
Urinary incontinence and pelvic floor relaxation
Her training in the above fields has been officially recognized (ATSMs: Advanced Training Skills Modules) by RCOG (Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists). In addition, she is an official instructor and trainer in colposcopy of the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP) and the Hellenic Society Colposcopy.
The doctor’s office is modern and fully equipped in order to provide gynecology services, such as gynecological tests (e.g. PAP test), transvaginal-pelvic ultrasound (TVS) and vaginal culture tests. Cervical and vestibular biopsies are also performed, as well as vaccination for cervical cancer, colposcopy and spiral (IUD) insertion.
Doctor K. Papakonstantinou monitors all the stages of pregnancy by setting a specific pregnancy monitoring plan, followed by all necessary examinations and instructions. She promotes normal vaginal delivery and lactation. She collaborates with an experienced midwife.
She also performs investigation of all infertile couples in her office and treats each case with sensitivity.
Due to her specializations and experience, the doctor provides a variety of treatments, examinations and surgeries, such as treatment of genital warts, hysteroscopies, laparoscopies, breast palpation, breast cyst aspiration, urinary incontinence, relaxation of pelvic floor, LOOP excision of cervix and performs oncological gynecological surgeries.
